Each February, the Town of Midland proudly takes part in the Ontario Heritage Trust’s province-wide celebration of our past, known as Heritage Week. The Town of Midland uses this week as an opportunity to promote awareness of local heritage resources and heritage-related programs.

2026 Heritage Appreciation Award Recipients
Allen and Rachel Suke
At the June 3, 2026, Town Council Meeting, Allen and Rachel Suke were officially recognized for their stewardship of the former Midland Public (Carnegie) Library at 526 Hugel Avenue and for their commitment to preserving its heritage value. Century Home Plaque Program
The Century Home Plaque Program recognizes homes in Midland that are more than a century old and which add to the unique character of the built heritage of the Town. The program provides an opportunity for homeowners to apply for a custom-made historical marker commemorating the longevity of their homes that doubles as an address marker.
Heritage Tax Relief Program
The Heritage Tax Relief Program provides tax relief to properties that have been designated by the Town. An application must be made for every year that an owner wishes a property to be considered for a Heritage Property Tax Relief.
