Kids Fishing Derby
The Kids Fishing Derby is a free, family-friendly event held on the first Saturday each June at Midland Town Harbour. Open to local children aged 16 and under, it’s all about fun, community, and introducing kids to fishing. This event is proudly supported by local sponsors and partners.
2026 Kids Fishing Derby
We hope all our young local anglers had a “reel” good time at our annual Kids Fishing Derby on June 6, 2026 held at the Midland Town Harbour. Despite the rain, lots of smiling children attended the event.
- Event Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Registration was in person at 9:00 AM the morning of the event
- Free bait, a hot dog, a juice box and a prize for all children registered
- All registered participants were entered into a draw to win one of 18 donated bikes with a helmet and additional great prizes from our sponsors (must have been present during the draw to win).
- Free face painting
- Photo ops with cartoon mascots Peppa and Mario
- Interact with community organizations
