Indigenous Art and Culture Awareness Week is an initiative featuring various organizations within North Simcoe who wish to highlight the work of Indigenous creatives through various mediums, such as dance, food, literature, music, visual arts, and crafts.
Since its inception, the goal of Indigenous Art and Culture Awareness Week has been to promote and preserve Indigenous traditions, stories, and practices. This community-driven project creates authentic experiences, most of which are free, for residents and visitors to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Indigenous art and culture in North Simcoe.

This year, the Town of Midland is excited to partner with Ontario Culture Days as a Provincial Festival Hub, with Indigenous Art & Culture Awareness Week serving as the cornerstone of our Culture Days programming.
