Parking in Midland

On-street Parking Not Permitted

A Significant Weather Event is currently in effect. As per the Parking By-law, motorists are not permitted to park on Town streets at any time during the event. 

Different regulations pertaining to parking across Midland are included in the Traffic By-law and the Parking By-law.

Paid Parking

Downtown Midland offers parking options within walking distance of top restaurants, unique shops, cultural attractions, and entertainment venues. Waterfront parking lots provide easy access to Midland's Harbour and boat launch.

Parking on downtown streets, Midland Harbour, Bayshore Drive and the Pete Pettersen Boat Launch is free during the day until further notice.

  • On-street parking spaces provide the easiest and quickest access to the front doors of businesses. View the Downtown Parking Map for details.
  • These spaces consist of both marked and unmarked parking spaces.
  • These spaces are owned and maintained by the Town.
  • Parking is allowed up to two hours.
  • Overnight on-street downtown parking is not permitted year-round.

  • Most parking lots within Midland are owned and maintained by the Town. These lots generally allow for parking up to eight hours. View the Downtown Parking Map for details.
  • Other lots located behind businesses are privately owned and maintained by the business owner.
  • Overnight off-street downtown parking is not permitted year-round.

The Midland Harbour lot includes 160 marked parking spaces.

The parking spaces within the Pete Pettersen Park Lot, located at 159 Marina Park Avenue, are unmarked parking spaces. The town offers permits for overnight parking for a maximum of two nights. Contact service@midland.ca or 705-526-4275 ext. 2255 for details.

As the Town of Midland grows, so does the need for parking. The Parking Study helped create a plan to make the best use of parking for residents, businesses, and visitors. The study concluded in November 2025. There will be a staff report presented to Town Council for consideration in spring 2026.
