Town Statement on the Use of Community Safety Programs

The Town of Midland remains committed to the safety of our residents, particularly our most vulnerable road users, especially children in school zones and pedestrians in community safety zones. The Community Safety Speed Camera program, using Automated Speed Cameras (ASE), launched in September 2025, is an evidence-based initiative supported by current provincial legislation under the Highway Traffic Act and O. Reg. 398/19.

(September 24, 2025 – Midland, ON) The Town of Midland unveiled the first of 77 newly designed street signs that will be installed within the historic community of Dollartown. The new street signs play homage to the history of the Dollartown community, with the new signage set to be installed at every intersection within Dollartown’s boundaries.

Temporary Office Closure - September 29, 2025

The municipal office will be closed on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for an all staff general meeting. The office will be open Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. 

Midland's Recreation Centre, Harbour office and Mid-Pen Transit Service will not be affected by this closure.

This special event marks the beginning of a community-wide celebration of Dollartown’s rich history and its lasting impact on Midland. Mayor Bill Gordon and the Heritage Committee Chair will share remarks as we officially reveal the new heritage boundary signage.
