Automated Speed Enforcement in Midland
Midland's Community Safety Speed Camera program uses Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) to help reduce speeding around schools and in Community Safety Zones.
Midland's Community Safety Speed Camera locations
There will be two active program areas in Midland starting September 2025.
- Yonge Street - Community Safety Zone in front of Mundy's Bay Public School (Coming soon)
- William Street - Community Safety Zone in front of Sacred Heart Catholic School (Coming soon)
How it works
The Community Safety Speed Program starts September 2025, with enforcement in the locations active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The program (ASE) uses a camera and speed sensor to detect the speed of travelling vehicles. If a vehicle exceeds the speed limit, the camera automatically captures an image of the vehicle.
A Provincial Offences Officer then reviews the image, and within 30 days, a Penalty Order (a "ticket") is sent to the vehicle's registered owner. The Penalty Order includes a fine, however, it does not affect the vehicle owner's driving record, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration, or insurance. No demerit points are applied.
